The Royal Canadian International Circus makes multiple stops with its high-flying and entertaining acts in the Toronto area. It’s a terrific circus!
The shows are both family-friendly and affordable. In 2024 the tour in Ontario visited Burlington, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Pickering, Scarborough and Vaughan.
Royal Canadian Circus in the GTA
The Royal Canadian Circus has been a fixture in Canada for over 50 years. Normally, during the summer, they run shows across the country with multiple performances in the Greater Toronto Area. This circus is not one that endangers animals or anything like that. In fact, since 2019 ,there haven’t been any animals at the shows at all (except maybe for horses or dogs very occasionally). What you can expect to see are plenty of acrobatics, high-wire acts, daredevils and other fun stunts.

How Much Does it Cost?
Depending on where you sit, tickets to the Royal Canadian Circus range between $35 for general admission up to $60 for ringside VIP seats. Ticket prices are the same for everyone ages 4 and up. Children younger than that are free if they sit on an adult’s lap.
The shows have divisions between areas with General Admission, VIP and Ringside sections. VIP and Ringside tickets are obviously more expensive, but they get first access into the Big Top and more comfortable seats. Seating is not assigned anywhere in the tent, although VIP and Ringside ticket holders are guaranteed seats in those sections.
To buy tickets and for full details about the circus, see the official Royal Canadian International Circus website.
What to Expect
The Royal Canadian Circus performances typically last for about 2 or 2.5 hours. That includes a 20-minute intermission at around the halfway point of the show. While there might occasionally be animal performances like trained horses doing cool tricks, most of what you’ll see are human performers. There are no lions, elephants, bears, chimps or anything like that.
One common guest star is Joseph Dominic Bauer who is a Swiss daredevil performer. He is the ringmaster for the Royal Canadian Circus shows and he’s amazing. Other performers in 2024 were Claudia Alvarado Bauer (a Mexican aerialist), the Fantastic Four Guererros high wire troupe from Colombia, and Leo Garcia who is a human cannonball from Mexico.
Also on the schedule to perform in 2024 were Pacusito Videla (a unicyclist and comedian from Argentina), Chu Chuan – Ho Diabolo (a tempo diablo artist from Taiwan), and the Zeman Duo from Hungary and Brazil (who do rollerblading stunts and quick-change magic). There were also the Bollywood Aerialists, the Fernandez Globe of Death motorcyclists from Mexico, and a Canadian Tribute Troupe.
(Note: Not all performers are the same for all shows. Artist details are subject to change.)
