The next Toronto Comicon takes place on March 14th, 15th and 16th in 2025.

Toronto Comicon
A celebration of all things pop culture, Toronto’s Comicon is a welcoming haven for fans of superheroes, comics, anime, sci-fi, gaming and more. Thousands of people head to the convention each year to meet some of their favourite actors and artists, buy memorabilia, and have a great time wearing elaborate costumes. It’s a big and bright public event.
Where and When
Comicon takes place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s south building which is located at 222 Bremner Boulevard. The event’s dates in 2025 are March 14th to 16th.
The hours for the convention on the Friday and Saturday are from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. On the Sunday it’s from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Comicon always takes place as a three-day event and this year it’s on the final few days on Spring Break.
Comicon Admission
The price of admission to Comicon depends on what day you buy your ticket for and how far in advance you buy them. Below was the cost for the full price tickets in 2024. Details for 2025 are TBA as of December, 2024.
- Adults (ages 18 and over): $28 on the Friday, $38 on the Saturday and $33 on the Sunday
- Youth (ages 13 to 17): $18 on the Friday, $28 on the Saturday and $23 on the Sunday
- Children (ages 6 to 12): $12 every day
- Family (two adults and up to four children): $61 on the Friday, $86 on the Saturday and $71 on the Sunday
There are also three-day passes available that cost $70 at full price in 2024. That gives you access to the entire weekend. One important thing to note is that each child pass is good for the whole weekend. If you plan on visiting multiple times with the same child, they only need a single ticket.
As well, there are discounts if you buy in advance. Early bird pricing for 2024 ended on February 29th. All individual tickets bought before then cost $5 less regardless of the day (except for children, which stays the same). Family passes and full weekend tickets cost $10 less in the early bird sale. 2025 details should be similar.
Note: Sometimes certain types of tickets sell out in advance. A couple years ago, that included youth and family passes for the Saturday. When that happens people who would otherwise have bought one of those tickets have to purchase a different (and more expensive) category of ticket instead (e.g. full-rate adult tickets).

What to Expect
The biggest part of Comicon is that it’s a celebration of all things fandom! Costumes aren’t required for entry, but you can expect to see a lot of them, and if you have one, this is the perfect opportunity to wear it. Those of all ages, genders and backgrounds attend the event and there are plenty of exhibits to explore.
There are various Q&A panels, workshops and rooms that have film footage to peruse on large screens. For those looking to add to their personal collections, there are vendors of all kinds selling new and vintage comics, games, merchandise and more. And for those looking to meet other fans who share similar interests, there are designated “community zones” where people can hang out and get to know others with the same sort of passions.
Celebrity Guests
One of the highlights at Comicon are the various special guests who attend at least part of the conventions. There are comic book creators and both screen and voice actors available for autographs and photo sessions.
Some of the highest profile guests at the 2024 event included the following:
- Denis Lawson – from Star Wars Trilogy (appearing all three days)
- Mary McDonnell – from Battlestar Galactica and The Fall of the House of Usher (appearing all three days)
- Jeff Ward – from One Piece and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (appearing all three days)

Fan Expo Canada
A related event to Comicon that takes place later in the year is Fan Expo Canada. In fact, it’s organized by the same organization (Fan Expo HQ) and also held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre! This other event has the similar structure as Comicon, although it’s a little more expensive. The event makes up for that, though by usually having some slightly higher-profile guests. Fan Expo is also bigger.
In 2024 the dates for Fan Expo are August 21st to 24th.
