The Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto
Toronto’s Hockey Hall of Fame is a museum that describes and honours the history of hockey and its players. A small committee inducts players and others involved in the game into the Hall of Fame each year. Most inductees include former players and executives who were in the National Hockey League (NHL). However, there are also other exhibitions that showcase people who heavily influenced the sport outside of the NHL.
The history of the committee itself dates back to 1943. With that said, the Hall of Fame didn’t find a permanent home until 1961 when a building opened in Toronto. The Hall of Fame moved again in 1993 to its current location inside of a mall called Brookfield Place.
The mall is just a few blocks from the Harbourfront on Yonge Street, making the museum very accessible. It’s only a few minutes away from the CN Tower and Scotiabank Arena. The Hall of Fame, however, is actually located in the downstairs area of Brookfield Place. As a result, there is no direct entrance from the outside. Visitors must remember that they need to enter the mall first before going to the museum.
At the museum, folks can learn about the long history of hockey and the people who impacted the game the most. Another cool aspect about the Hall of Fame is that it’s the home of the Stanley Cup, which is the trophy that NHL teams compete for each year. The Cup is one of the oldest trophies in all of sports and arguably one of the hardest to win as well.

Hours and Ticket Prices
Outside of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day when it’s closed, the Hockey Hall of Fame is open daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm during the spring, autumn and winter months. During the spring school break between March 9th and 17th in 2024 as well as over the summer and holiday period end of the year, the museum’s hours are from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Below are the ticket prices (including taxes) for folks of different ages to enter the museum.
- Adults (ages 14 to 64): $25
- Seniors (ages 65 and over): $20
- Youth (ages 4 to 13): $15
- Toddlers (ages 3 and under): Free
NOTE: Folks who purchase their tickets online can get 10% off a purchase from Spirit of Hockey, which is a store located inside the museum.
